Intellitech i-FILL® Precision Technology Implemented by Quanterix to Improve Automation in Manufacturing

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – (August 27, 2020) – Intellitech Corporation today announced that Quanterix Corporation, a company digitizing biomarker analysis to advance the science of precision health, has implemented Intellitech precision technology to help automate and accelerate its manufacturing processes. Intellitech is a leading, international provider of precision liquid filling and capping machines for biotech, pharmaceutical and specialty filling industries, marking its 25thyear in business in 2020.

Quanterix is utilizing the i-FILL® Micro Pump and X-Y tray filler, automating extremely small volume liquid filling for delicate product transfer and testing. The single-use pump, with a disposable fluid path, outperforms well-known peristaltic pumps by providing unmatched repeatable dispense accuracy over hundreds of cycles. Intellitech has provided process improvement for Quanterix, delivering consistent and repeatable dispense accuracy as the i–FILL Micro Pump is recipe-driven and qualified to meet the company’s filling acceptance criteria. The filler is a great ergonomic alternative to repetitive, manual hand pipetting, accepts a wide array of bottle sizes, and utilizes single-use technology with a disposable pump head and fluid path.

“Our partnership with Intellitech has provided us with a semi-automated process improvement in our manufacturing facility that delivers consistent and repeatable dispensing accuracy, as the i–FILL® Micro Pump is recipe-driven and qualified to meet our filling acceptance criteria,” said Paulo Carvalho, vice president of Manufacturing Operations at Quanterix. “The filler is a great ergonomic alternative to repetitive, manual hand pipetting, accepts wide array of bottle sizes, and utilizes single-use technology with disposable pump head and fluid path. This allows us to deliver on our promise of meeting customer demands with a highly precise product, such as our Simoa assay kits.”

The ultra-sensitive biomarker testing has the potential to become a new standard for researchers to conduct profiling across therapeutic areas.

Intellitech President Barbara Biller said: “As a provider of precision technology, we are grateful that in some small way, Intellitech is supporting Quanterix’ groundbreaking efforts to improve testing precision and power scientific discoveries that may ultimately go on to provide early detection and monitoring for those suffering from devastating diseases.”
